While a lot of the digital savvy people are preoccupied with the latest smartphones, tablets, and wearables, there are also those that care about whether their house temperature is comfortable enough so that you can enjoy playing with your smartphones, tablets, and wearables. Nest has built a name for themselves in creating the “thoughtful home” that is digitally connected and now they’re bringing to the market the 3rd generation of their famous Learning Thermostat.

Not only does the Nest Learning Thermostat keep your house warm or cool enough, it also helps save on your heating and cooling bills as well. This newest version of the product sports a sleek new design that gives you 40% improvement on the larger and more high-resolution screen as well as crisper display with the 229 PPI that this one has. It also has a new feature called Farsight which lets you see the display target temperature from across the room because of its high resolution screen. You can choose to display the target temperature or an analog or digital clock.

But the changes aren’t just in the aesthetics. There’s a reason why it’s called a “learning” thermostat as it can learn your shutoff patterns and then send you a Heads Up message through the Nest app and also on the Home Report. And if it detects some unusual behavior, it will also tell you that there may be something wrong, through the app the display as well.

Of course the 3rd generation does pretty much basically what the 1st and 2nd gen does as well, but with more accurate results supposedly, and a prettier package as well. The new Nest Learning Thermostat will be available at 7,000 retail locations starting at $249.
