We are all keen to see Android get used inside devices other than smartphones. Android has made its way into netbooks and eReaders among other devices so far. According to new rumors, NEC is set to release a tablet computer in Japan this fall that will run Android.

The device is rumored to have a touchscreen of 7 to 8-inches and NEC expects to ship somewhere around a million of the things each year. The images remind me of an iPhone with a larger screen and a few extra buttons.

The device is said to be very fast booting and make heavy use of cloud-storage. Details like hardware, pricing, and availability are unknown. Only time will tell if the rumor turns out to be true, considering fall is already here we should know soon.
