In case you haven’t heard CBS or the NCAA announce their new Android application we have all the details. With March Madness officially kicking off tomorrow it’s time we all get prepared for the onslaught of close games, 3 pointers, and nail biting finishes that are surely coming soon. The NCAA has just released their official March Madness app for Android and it’s quite awesome.

Available right now in the Google Play Store the official app works great, is designed well and even offers a live stream of all 67 March Madness games from the first one on the 13th, to the final game all on your Android smartphone. Currently there seems to be no tablet support, and streaming isn’t available on all devices but most will have access. Live Streaming will be $3.99 total to get all the games on your mobile device, or online. A pretty good deal if you ask me.

Streaming wont work on the Galaxy Nexus or Android 4.0 devices but everything else is working great here. From checking scores, calendar of games, brackets and more. For those that don’t want to pay for streaming the app does offer radio broadcasts of every single game, so that is a plus. We also have alerts for upsets, overtimes, crunch time (close games), or for users to select alerts for their favorite team.

All the details on the free features or the paid live streaming and more is available from the official market at the Google Play Store linked to below. Get those brackets ready to go, buy some beer and Dorito’s and enjoy the best month of college basketball.

Play Store – March Madness

  1. So the screenshot above appears to show that it is running on an ICS device.  How did you even get it installed?  The Play Market (when viewed from my computer) states that it isn’t compatible with my VZW Galaxy Nexus, running the AOKP Milestone 4 ROM.  However, it IS compatible with my HP Touchpad running THE SAME ROM?  How does this happen? ?

  2. I emailed the developer (mmlivehelp at turner.com), and got a canned reply that says to check their FAQ (with link) or look at their Twitter page @mmlive_custsvc:twitter . the Twitter account doesn’t exist.

  3. The app will run on most android devices just fine – but Google Play will only list it for direct download to your phone a “few” select models.  Have no fear, especially those T-Mobile users that got slighted by having no devices listed (which is interesting since T-Mobile has the best Android lineup of devices running at the fastest speeds available).  I have the app running on my Galaxy S II, and on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 – but I had to side-load the app, can’t get it from Google Play.  To side-load, just download onto your PC or another device and copy it to a folder on your phone or SD card.

  4. I’m been searching for few days of ways to watch Live games of March Madness since I don’t have cable at school and I found a way to do it.

CBS allows you to watch the games but only to US citizens but here is the trick…

Go to http://www.unotelly.com and sign up a free account. This app allows you to get around the USA block so you can watch the games without any problem.

    Enjoy. 😀
