Universal Orlando is the latest theme park to get an official app. The app, dubbed Universal Orlando Resort App, promises to "put everything you need to know about your vacation in the palm of your hand." The app is free to download, free to use and can be found in the Google Play Store.

The app brings a handful of conveniences. Users will be able to check the wait times for rides, shows and attractions. You will also be able to explore the parks with the included (and detailed) maps of the park. And nicely, the map setup includes a "Guide Me" feature to help get you to your destination.

Other highlights include being able to create a favorites list, being able to filter lists and maps down to just what you plan to see, and being able to stay up to date with in-park notifications. NBC Universal also mentioned how the app will allow users to "discover hidden surprises throughout the park."

The Universal Orlando Resort app is currently sitting at version 1.0.1 and with support for devices running Android 4.0.3 or later. Those looking for the app will be able to grab it using this Google Play Store link.
