N.O.V.A. 3 Gameplay trailer reminds us of Halo

N.O.V.A. 3 Gameplay trailer reminds us of Halo

Gameloft yesterday released yet another teaser trailer for the highly anticipated follow up to one of their best games, and that would be N.O.V.A 3. The multiplayer gameplay trailer looks pretty awesome, but I almost thought I was watching an Xbox and Halo trailer for a minute. The game is stacking up to be pretty epic but check out the Warthog from the video below.

Don’t get me wrong, this comes as no surprise as the original always had a “halo feel” to it if you know what I mean — and that was a good thing. The original trailer released earlier this week (linked to below) had a striking resemblance to EA’s Crysis, and now this multiplayer video shows even more of their “inspirations”. This game is shaping up to be one awesome shooter for mobile gamers, that is for sure. Check out that Warthog with its top-mounted gun and all.

You may or may not like the similarities to Crysis, Halo, and other shooter games but there’s only so much you can do with this style of game. Right? Obviously I wish they’d be a bit more creative but I’ll be buying the game on release day that is for sure. As long as it’s compatible with Android 4.0 and the Galaxy Nexus of course. Something that isn’t ever guaranteed with Gameloft. I’m still more excited for Crysis 3 but this will probably be one of the best mobile games of the year from what we’ve seen thus far. Oh and look at that, capture the flag shown nicely in the video too.

Will you be buying or playing N.O.V.A. 3 when it’s released later this month?

“Will you be buying or playing N.O.V.A. 3 when it’s released later this month?”

It depends, on whether this game is even compatible with Tegra 2, and if so, at what framerate. And does it display the same degree of eyecandy as the version shown on a French made YouTube clip sporting a Samsung Galaxy SII.

You will recall that about 1 year ago, Android makers are said to have come up with the iPad 2 killer–a tablet with the awe-inspiring Tegra 2 and a new OS revision nicknamed Honeycomb. Today the Android community has all but shoved aside Tegra 2, and now they demand that we step up to Tegra 3, or else!

So I’m just going to sit with my arms folded here and watch if the game is supported on Tegra 2 and does so decently. If not, you can take Tegra 3 and all other Android CPUs and shove it up… [self censored for your younger readers].

It was a cross between Crysis and Halo.

Gameloft combined Crysis armor with Halo armor.

    Crysis + Halo = NOVA
