Myriad turns Java into Android apps – Video

Android just got access to a whole new library of pre-written Java-Based applications. Myriad launched a tool called J2Android earlier last week. This tool can be used to convert thousands of MIDlet applications and games already on the market and allows Dalvik to run them.

Chief product officer of Myriad, Malcolm Dawe said:

“As Android devices appear in greater volumes, the challenge has been how quickly the industry can make apps and content available to cope with user demand. One obvious source is the catalogue of quality titles already available but locked away in Java format.”

Myriad is the same company that is working on bring Dalvik Turbo to Android. This will allow for faster processing of games and apps, this will make Android 3 times faster than it is now.
