We heard about Sony Ericsson’s stance on multitouch on the Xperia X10 before it was released. However, it seems they have gone back on their word and decided to enable it on the X10.

After some work from the engineering team, they were actually able to change the driver and firmware for the touch digitizer to make some multitouch gestures work. The multitouch within the device however will be very limited. In fact, we will only see pinch to zoom in the browser and Google Maps at first.
