The Motorola Xoom has been getting more than enough attention lately, but with good reason. It is an amazing device. I can’t seem to put mine down for more than 30 minutes unless I’m watching March Madness. Earlier we posted a Xoom Wifi Release Schedule mentioning everywhere it will be for sale. Today we have more news from the Costco side.

Costco is selling the Motorola Xoom now, you can see prices and in store pictures here , the Wifi Only Xoom will be available in store at Costco same time as everywhere else, March 27th. The deal here is the Xoom Wifi is available to order online at costco.com with a free Motorola Gel case, and free shipping right now.

If I didn’t already have the Verizon Xoom I’d be pre-ordering mine from Costco right about now. I don’t know about you guys but you better move fast, as this deal probably wont last long.

  1. FYI. . .

Costo extends the warranty to two years for such devices.

From the Costo Motorola Xoom’s page:

“For COMPUTERS, TELEVISIONS and PROJECTORS, Costco extends the MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY to two years from date of purchase. Please call Costco Concierge™ Technical Support @ 1-866-861-0450 for warranty assistance.”

So it’s a pretty good deal when you factor in the addition of the extra warranty. Purchase it with your AX and the warranty should be doubled–not sure if AX doubles Costco’s extra warranty or not.

  2. I saw this on Costco site last night. Thought about it, but they don’t ship till April 1. I may go to store to get sooner. I think AX extends warranty one year beyond the 2 year Costco.

  3. Not sure about AX, but MC only adds up to one year to the original manufacturer’s warranty (it doubles it if it’s one year or less). If you purchase an extended warranty of one year or less (I would assume Costco’s extended warranty falls under this), MC’s coverage begins after the extended warranty runs out.

On another note, I called Costco’s concierge service and asked them to verify the Xoom receives the extended warranty, and the gentleman I spoke with spoke with his supervisor and confirmed this policy does NOT apply to the Xoom. If others have been told differently by a reputable source, I’d be interested in hearing about it.
