Are you someone who’s been waiting to get their hands on one of Verizon’s high-profile Android devices, but haven’t been able to pull the trigger due to the price? Well, if you’re someone who doesn’t mind buying things from Amazon’s digital store shelves, then the retailer has a great deal for you. As of right now, and until November 22nd, you can pick up one of those high profile devices for only one penny.

Amazon has every single Droid device, currently available on the Big Red network, up for sale right now. And, it’s a killer sale. You can choose from the Motorola Droid X, the Droid 2, or the Droid Pro for just one penny. And, just to make sure that all o the high-end Droid devices make the cut, you can even get the Droid Incredible for the same price, too.

You’ll have to be a non-Verizon customer starting up a new line to get this deal. And you’ll obviously have to sign a new, two-year contract to get the deal, too. But, for only one penny, how can you pass it up? Head on through the source link to check out the details.

[via Amazon; thanks, Dave!]

The problem with this deal (and every other “cheap” phone plan I’ve found on the web) is that you must take the $30 a month data plan and cannot choose the $15 plan you can get through Verizon. The extra $15 a month means another $180 per year or $360 over the life of the contract. If you have access to wifi, you can get by with the cheaper data plan. I suspect that verizon will run some sales over the holidays and may run some android discounts when the get the iphone. Patience.

There are a lot of people out there who do not want the iPhone…I am one of them…regardless of which network they are on. The Droid X, Droid Incredible, and Samsung Fascinate are all at least equal to the iphone, and in many people’s mind exceeds that phone.

Your point about the data is a red herring. Most people who use smartphones easily go over the 150 mb of data each month, especially if they stream video to their phone.

For some the iPhone is an excellent choice. IOS just works, but don’t kid yourself by saying it is perfect.

Look at each smart phone, wether iphone or Android phone, each has its advantages and disadvantages. Informed consumers should make their decision based on their needs.

I certainly wish I were not stuck in a contract with T-Mobile, or I would jump on this deal right now. Two Droid phones for 2 cents and no activation fee. excellent deal to say the least.

  • Hey Deckard, I feel your pain.  I’ll be getting rid of my grabby T-Mobile service and will be heading over to Android I believe.  But, I can’t make up my mind between getting an Iphone or a Android.  But as far as your deal goes a for 2 cent goes that’s pretty good, but I found on better.  All’s you have to do is sign up to be a tester and you can get the dawn thing free.  I posted a link on my site, you can go there and grab one while you can. Android vs Iphone

  • James How did it workout? If you go to this link here you can get it essentially for free or if your a Droid or iphone lover…lol When you get to the site just click on the link that saysDroidor iphone in the post.

  • I was mistaken James I reread your post again. You said that you already done the deal. How was the process to get it?
