Motorola and Verizon’s new DROID RAZR HD was announced earlier this month, but sadly we didn’t get any sort of release date. Motorola simply stated it would arrive “before the holidays.” Today however we might have a better idea of what to expect regarding when Motorola’s new flagship smartphone will arrive for the US.

Previous rumors pegged an early October release date and now we are hearing the same thing today. An official Motorola press release is making the rounds for the international Motorola RAZR HD stating availability will be “from October.”

We aren’t sure if that means starting October 1st the RAZR HD will be available, or if we can just expect the smartphone to arrive in the month of October. For now Verizon and Motorola haven’t said a word but most likely we’ll also see the Verizon DROID RAZR HD launch around the same time frame.

Usually Motorola has favored Verizon with their release dates and launches and we are expecting the same this time around with their new RAZR HD. We got some hands-on with the smartphones during their announcement earlier this month and you can check those out below. Stay tuned as we’ll be hearing from Motorola and or Verizon soon enough.

    • The iPhone is not a POS. It’s still more “reliable” than almost any phone (not including security, in that case Blackberry wins). The iPhone has never shut down or reboot on its own like my previous Android phone has. The iPhone also never gave me issues with trying to unlock the phone or hit “Answer” when simply trying to take a callI. I currently have an iPhone 4S and will be upgrading to the Droid Razr MAXX HD myself. I’ve read a lot about the iPhone and I think it’s going to be a great phone however, I feel like I will be getting more bang for the buck with the Razr maxx HD. The Droid Razr maxx HD will have a longer battery life and that’s the main reason I’m going with that phone. The iPhone has always been super fast and responsive especially it’s iOS. I really hope that the Razr maxx HD is going to come pre-loaded with 4.1 Jellybean, I’m really curious to see the performance on this new phone! GL to all who is still skeptical about going with either or! Hopefully you will be happy with your choices!

      • I think the iphone is a pos because it has a small battery, is delicate, and most people that use iphones use google services for nearly everything which are all better on the android phones. Not all androids are created equally so don’t say that just because yours rebooted was because of the os I have had my DROID x since it was released and can say I have never had that problem.

  1. I have the Droid Razr Maxx and i will be getting the Maxx HD, i got a chance to review an iPhone 5 and the new maps are horrible, most apps i have for fee on Android i had to pay $.99 for (yes i paid, I’m not cheap, i just hate that i could get it free, but they choose to charge) some apps like the xfinity app to record remotely does not open, and many reviews say it had great battery, obviously those people have never used the Droid maxx, it could not last half a day on normal use with 4G, the maxx last me all day with wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, active updates and high brightness. Now everyone talks about apple perfect record with phones, but those people must be smoking, has everyone forgotten the iPhone 4 bumper, or the battery issues that had to be fixed by an update on the 4s, or the wifi problems on the iPad. That i remember no Motorola has needed a bumper to make phone calls (the main functionally of a phone). Security award now goes to Android as well, that’s why the state department and home land security will now use Android, more you can encrypt your data, that’s what i do. Now the reason you don’t hear this issues about apple is because they are a religion, their followers will defend it with Shields and swords, they go to church (apple store) make a confession (tell their problems) and then they get told what to do, how to fix it, and how much to pay
