Motorola DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD getting 4.1 Jelly Bean today

Just as expected, today Verizon and Motorola have begun pushing out the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean build for the popular DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD brother. Late last week they started the “soak test” and let users know the update would arrive soon, and now it’s finally here for all those DROID fans to enjoy. More details after the break below.

This morning DROID RAZR HD owners woke up to a nice 276MB update that brings their smartphone to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean. The build number is 9.1.41 and should only take a few minutes to download on that 4G LTE and quickly install for your enjoyment. Just like the RAZR M update we now have stock Android on-screen navigation buttons and much, much more.

The update to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean for the RAZR HD and MAXX HD brings project butter enhancements, Google Now voice search, the new and improved Gmail app, expandable notifications and everything else you guys already know about with Jelly Bean. It’s really great to see Motorola keeping true to their promise and updating these devices so quickly.

The update also removes the Color app, Verizon Video, but adds the Amazon suite full of bloatware. I’m personally a fan of the stock on-screen navigation buttons, and we can slowly but surely see Google’s influence on Motorola Mobility since buying them out earlier this year. As usual the update should arrive on its own, or check for updates yourself if you’d rather not wait. Now we’re just hopeful the original RAZR gets the update soon too. Let us know how the update goes in the comment section below.

Great – except for the stupid bloatware – thankfully you can disable a majority of it…
