Motorola Backflip now available for $99

07 March 2010 by David Junior

The Motorola Backflip is now available on AT&T for $99, this is the first Android device in their lineup. It features a 3.1 inch HVGA display, quad-band GSM and tri-band 7.2Mbps HSPA connectivity, a five megapixel camera with flash and 4X zoom, aGPS, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, and MOTOBLUR running on top of Android 1.5. Android 2.1 is not far off for this an all Motorola Android’s.

The BACKFLIP will cost you $99 after a $100 mail in rebate and a two year contract. Or, you can buy it outright for $349.99. This is also the first Android to feature Yahoo search integration instead of Google search. Google isn’t even mentioned on the details page of this phone.

  1. Funny a Google Phone without Google Search
  2. meh, i don't think i'm very interested in this, but i sure do hope someone makes a good, stable rom that gets rid of motoblur. motoblur itself is ugly and not too great, and being stuck on 1.5 sucks.
  3. Thanks David about the Motoblur I'm not aware of the,I never use a Motorola Device
  4. I'm really happy with Motoblur. I personally prefer it over stock. I'm a big social networker so that could also be why.
  5. oh, i only have a g1 lol. and no one in my area is very interested in android.. i've never seen a hero or n1 in real life..

and erin, i'm not sure how motoblur works, but social networking seemed pretty nice on my hero rom. eh, i have to say that i really like how the cliq looks.. i didn't actually measure it or anything, but it seems slimmer and sleeker than my g1 (well, i do have a case on it..)
  6. I don't like how they put all that crap over the regular android os
  7. i like crap ontop of regular android and u can usually use both
