Motorola and Verizon start off the holiday season with Jelly Beans

Motorola and Verizon start off the holiday season with Jelly Beans

Back in October Motorola announced themselves as the “New Motorola” when unveiling their brand new DROID RAZR lineup for Verizon Wireless. With Google at the helm they’re aiming at better smartphones, faster updates, and overall a better DROID. This week they officially started rolling out Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean to their DROID RAZR HD and MAXX HD — and today they’ve started the holiday season off right by sending Android Community a nice little treat in celebration.

We wanted to thank Verizon and Motorola (more importantly their PR company) for sending us a neat little festive care package this afternoon. Starting the holidays off with a nice gesture, and timely updates, everyone in the world of DROID should be rather happy. They’ve updated the DROID RAZR M to Jelly Bean, followed it with a timely update for the RAZR HD line, and surely the original RAZR is up next.

Starting this week the RAZR HD and MAXX HD begun receiving the OTA update to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean and Verizon is taking this moment to remind us all how awesome the update really is. The Note below came along with our care package stating the update is rolling out as we speak, and brings forth all the things we love about Jelly Bean. That being Google Now, expandable notifications, a butter smooth user interface, and of course Google’s improved voice search.

Oh and if you didn’t notice from the pictures I’m already snacking on the Jelly Belly’s. We have black licorice, and of course the DROID Red is present — and delicious. This isn’t anything major, but it’s the thought that counts right guys? It appears Motorola is taking their promise of updates quite seriously. Now if they’d just unlock those bootloaders — had to say it.

As a reminder you should be getting the over the air update any day now. As usual you can head into settings > about phone > and check for updates manually to enjoy this latest tasty treat from Google and Motorola. Thanks Motorola and Verizon, Happy Holidays to you too!

This is wrong. You can’t manually update… at least not yet. Or else I’d be enjoying jelly bean right now. Kind of pissed off I haven’t gotten it yet.

It’s driving me crazy, why won’t they just let people download the update already? It’s been three days.

Hmmm… whether or not to trust seemingly helpful internet person… :-)

Finally got mine legitimately tonight. Downloading right now. Apparently the tag in the article’s picture was accurate (for me). It became available at midnight EST (9 PST)
