We have not one, but two videos of the Moto X for you this fine Sunday afternoon. If you’ve been waiting to see the Moto X in all it’s glory, today we’re getting an official look thanks to a leaked promo video from Canada’s Rogers Wireless. Someone’s not going to be happy about this one. An official video has leaked showing off the phone, hands-free voice actions, and what appears to be plenty of custom or Android 4.3 features as well.

Not only do we have a video below from Rogers giving us some of the clearest views of this handset to date, but another second video has leaked this morning revealing something major. What might that be? The processor. According to the second video you’ll see below the Moto X isn’t running on an older dual-core processor, but instead appears to rock the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 quad-core we were all hoping for. It isn’t the 800 series, but we’ll take it.

First things first, check out this video from Rogers Wireless found by AusDroid. Not only does it appear that Google Now will be getting a huge update in the future, but you’ll be able to control everything with your voice and not even touch the phone. Notifications will light up the screen (instead of a notification light) and the lockscreen will be intuitive and actually unlock you right into the notification. We can see a message right in the notification circle. Then gestures for launching the camera and more. Take a peek.

The video talks about being a Rogers exclusive, but that might just be in Canada. It’s coming to virtually every US carrier. It leaked yesterday for Verizon, and the video below shows it running on AT&T. I’m a bit concerned about the “always-on” mode mentioned, but we’ll learn more about that soon enough. The video below claims the Snapdragon 600, but appears to show a new improved dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro that’s been upgraded with the Adreno 320 GPU.

We’re seeing a lot of leaks lately about the Moto X, and it’s looking quite likely that August 23rd will be the official release date. We’re starting to think the customization options will be a US only deal. The leakster from Vimeo has a few more videos worth checking out too, for those interested.

We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more details about the upcoming Google Moto X. I like what I’m seeing, but I’ll never do that camera gesture. Ever.

  1. In regards to the CPU video it clearly shows on the opening screen the processor is dual core not quad core so it can’t be a 600. It is still almost certainly powered by the dual core S4 pro but good to know performance is almost identical to the 600 despite having two less cores.

    • Maybe it is a dual core version of the S600. So 2 Krait 300 cores. If that’s the case and that app is geared towards single threaded performance, it would explain why it is between the 2 S600 CPUs. I don’t know that app that well so someone correct me.

  2. S4 pro? Isn’t that the processor from the Galaxy S3?? If the price is good, I’m so headed to AT&T to try this out on their no-contract plans.

      • Good. I’ve been itching for some decent dual-core processors. Hopefully the price is right, because I’m not paying money on a dual-core if there are quad-cores to be had at the same price.

  3. I have been waiting for a Goole / Moto phone, though GS4 and HTC One are soooo tempting. I hope Google/Moto won’t disappoint people like me. (I guess ton out there waiting).

    Quad Core (minimum)
    Sanpdragon 800 / Tigra S4
    1080p (Its common)
    Min 4.7″ or 5″ max
    Android 4.3
    Gorilla 3 or better.
    Rugged body
Min 3300 mAh batterry (Moto is known to provide this).
    Min 8mp camera.

Anything less than this is disappointing….FOR SURE!!!

    • I feel the same way. It would have been nice if this phone was a spec
beast as well, but it just won’t be. I like the idea that they are going
for the everyday user here, but that just means that it’s not the phone
for me. Maybe the next Nexus device will impress, or a follow up device
after the X is out with some flagship specs. Moto X2, sign me up. Otherwise, HTC One is looking real nice to me.

      • Google isn’t interested in getting into a spec war. They want to focus on the experience which is by far and away what most users want!! I think this phone is going to be a hit. Furthermore, it was never intended to be a flagship phone. It is a mid-range device geared to excite people who want a phone that works, gives a great user experience. A top notch camera, great battery life and a tough body. That is what this phone is going to give.

The Nexus 5 is just around the corner! That will be your spec power horse…

    • I’d be okay with down to a 4.3″ 720p screen to be honest, but agree that 5″ should be the upper limit. I have a Nexus 4 and really happy with it’s 4.7″ 1280×768 screen. Snapdragon 600 is fine by me, too, but the 800 would be preferable.

      3300mAh battery sounds very tasty…

  4. No lie, the Butterfly S is by far more tempting to me. The X seems interesting but not enough to give it a chance.

    • The Vimeo one also reports “Ouch! This video can’t be played with your current setup.” so I don’t know exactly what is going wrong there – I have watched Vimeo videos on this setup before just fine :/

      • just as Mario replied I’m shocked that anyone can earn $6586 in four weeks on the internet. did you look at this website www.KEP2.com

  5. It’s so plastic, like S4. I really don’t understand why they manufacture top phone that look like cheap handset.
