The Moto Maker website once had an estimated delivery of just a few days. But it looks like that estimate has slowly been creeping up. Several readers commented on Monday about how the estimate was sitting at 8 days and it looks like that has been pushed to 13 days as of today. The delay is as a result of the Moto X assembly plant being located in Fort Worth, Texas and the recent storms that have been affected much of the country.

Given this is weather related there really isn’t much that can be done. If nothing else though, those waiting on a Moto Maker Moto X handset can take some comfort in knowing they are not alone in the wait. Judging from a Reddit thread, it appears as if Motorola has been telling users they have “several contingencies in place” and at present “there may be a 1-2 day delay” from original shipping estimates.

“Unfortunately a winter storm is causing hazardous conditions in Fort Worth, where our factory is located. Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our team members, as well as providing the highest level of service to our customers. We are taking steps to make up any lost time, but we anticipate some delays.”

Motorola hasn’t offered much else just yet. In other words, they haven’t shared what those special plans may involve. The weather conditions appear to be improving and that should mean shipments and building will go back to normal. Assuming this holds true, that 13 day estimated delivery window should begin to decrease.

As for those still holding a $150 Moto X discount code — be prepared for some waiting. And trying to stay on the positive side here, maybe this means a bit less rush on your end, and a bit more thought can go into the perfect color scheme. Lastly, we have seen several orders that were placed on December 9th get situated with a December 17th shipping estimate.
