Nintendo has finally entered the smartphone gaming arena with the new Miitomo app. The mobile game first launched in Japan last week and was quickly used by one million users. As we described before, it’s more of a social app as the Mii characters can be customized and interact with others. Inside is a mini game known as Miitomo Drop.

The game isn’t really exciting compared to the popular Nintendo games we know but the Japanese game developer has just started and perhaps still testing the waters before the company goes full blast in mobile phone gaming. If you already have a Mii and are avid Wii or Wii U gamers, you’ll appreciate this one because you can now bring your Mii anywhere with you to interact with others. You can also take cute photos with the Mii against any background.

If you’re bored with the look of your Mii character, you can change the clothes and add accessories you can purchase from the Miitomo shop using “coins” that you collected. If you need more coins, just buy using real money.

You won’t find the app yet on the Play Store if you’re in the United States or in any country outside Japan where Miitomo is already available. Nintendo will begin the international roll out tomorrow, March 31. Check out the Play Store link below from time to time to see if Miitomo is available.
