Microsoft Keyboard for Excel Android app

Microsoft seems to be busy working on apps that would not only benefit Windows Phone users but also fans of Android. Through the Microsoft Garage Project, the tech giant is proving once again why it’s still the top software developer company. Conceptualized only in late 2014, Microsoft opened the Garage for employees to work and improve on Android apps. I used to wonder why Redmond just won’t focus on Windows Phone but Microsoft making Android apps means better programs for the mobile platform.

There are numerous Android apps already released by the Garage Team. One of the first apps introduced by Microsoft was the now popular Next Lock Screen which the company has also been regularly updating. Another similar app, the Picturesque Lock Screen, was released earlier this month. It’s an app that brings Bing home page images to the lock screen.

This latest Microsoft Garage project, Keyboard for Excel is a special Android app that provides a new keyboard optimized for numbers. This makes using Excel use and entering of data on mobile devices easier, faster, and more efficient. Some Garage employees focused and prioritized on Excel operators. For faster number entry, you can make use of the 10-key number layout. There’s also the tab key for speedy navigation across columns on your excel file.

Keyboard for Excel is only an experimental app. It doesn’t have any language support yet except for English, and there is no gesture typing and auto-correct as well.
