Amazon Exclusive Yuphoria

Setting aside the OnePlus-Cyanogen-Micromax drama last year in India, Micromax has recently introduced a new follow up to the YUreka Cyanogen smartphone. Almost half a year later, the company is introducing a second smartphone called the YUphoria. Micromax’s YUphoria is an Amazon Exclusive offering. If you’re interested, you can pre-register now and phone will start shipping on May 28 in India.

Price tag of the YUphoria reads Rs. 6,999 ($109). This is one affordable phone available in either Champagne Gold and Buffed Steel and encased in a metal ring for durability. Specs include a 5-inch HD IPS display, 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, Full Lamination Technology, 8MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 5MP front camera, 8.5 wide angle lens, Pure Wolfson Sound, AAC speakers, 64-BIT Qualcomm 410 Snapdragon processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in memory, 4G LTE connectivity, the latest sensors (G, L, P, and E compass), and a 2240 mAh battery that can be charged from 0 to 65% within 45 minutes, thanks to Quick Charge technology.

Aside from the Amazon India exclusive YUphoria, YU (a Micromax subsidiary) also introduced the YuFit and the HealthYu. These are new wearable devices ready for the Indian market and affordable at Rs 999($15) and Rs 4,999($78). These new Yu connected devices are available on Yu’s website.

Micromax Yu YuFit band

YuFit is a fitness band which will be offered to the first 1,000 customers for free. It works with the HealthyfiMe app exclusively so you can track your food intake.

Meanwhile, the HealthYu is pocket sized device that can do critical medical checkups. It’s like your own personal medical assistant that helps you monitor your health–body temperature, blood pressure, respiration rate, and heart rate.

The YuFit and the HealthYu are smart health accessories that help users to be physicall fit and live a healthier lifestyle. We all know how hard it is to be fit in this day and age so you really need some digital assistants (and also because you’re really lazy).

The two connected devices plus the ‘HealthifyMe’ app helps everyone interested to be healthy and fit. The app also provides a dietary database of Indian cuisine that will be very useful to the consumers in India. Note that ‘HealthifyMe’ has recently received a sizable investment from Micromax so it’s expected the latter to integrate the app with other products.
