NoYes

Dell has been offering an oPhone-based Android-powered smartphone in China for a bit now and rumors have been swirling that the handset would come to America too. Michael Dell has now confirmed that the handset will indeed be coming to America early next year.

Dell didn’t offer any further information on the device in the way of specs, carrier, or pricing. All we know is that the handset runs Android and has a touchscreen. I bet that Dell tries to set the device apart based on price.

This may be one of the lower cost Android devices. Rumors peg AT&T as the carrier. AT&T is certainly lean on Android devices and has plans to offer more so the deal would make sense.

  1. I bought a Dell monitor because they're consistently rated very high... Well, I got a stuck pixel and had to go through Dell's RMA service. Holy crap! Dell has the absolute worst customer service I've ever used! I spent 45 minutes on the phone barely being able to understand the guy because of his thick Indian accent trying to explain that I had a stuck pixel. Then when I called back for info on where to ship the RMA'd monitor the guy talked to me as if I was waisting his time trying to send back the company a $300 product! Based on this experience I will stay as far away from Dell as possible. It's a shame, they make nice stuff. I'm just not willing to support that outsourced customer service that is absolutely horrible.
  2. i learned to stay away from Dell back in the 90's.

plus this phone needs a real keyboard. this VK stuff has to die hahaha
