We had seen some specs leak in regards to the Meizu MX3 smartphone a few months earlier. That spec leak also included some images of both the front and rear of the device, but there was still one important aspect that was missing — an official announcement from Meizu. Well, it looks like that will be happening early next month.

Details coming of out China are showing an event invitation dated for September 2nd. Meizu hasn’t specified the exact device they are planning to announce, however looking to previous patterns and we have already seen the company launch the MX1 and MX2. The Meizu MX2 went on sale in China last year so natural patterns seem to call for the MX3.

That brings the other pattern — the Meizu MX3 will likely never see a widespread global release and will likely be announced only for those in China. That being said, the handset seems like it will bring a nice mix of specs and design. Earlier images of the handset can be seen here in the post.

Otherwise, the Meizu MX3 is expected to arrive with a 5.1-inch Full HD display and powered by a Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor with 2GB of RAM. The handset should also have options for 32GB, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage along with a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera. The MX3 will be running Flyme 3.0, which is a customized version of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Aside from those specs, those earlier images revealed the measurements which are shown as being 2.79 x 5.51 x 0.31-inches.

The handset is also expected to have an illuminated LED home button. These images show the home button being as such, however this is one part of the rumors that have gone back and forth. Anyway, while this is one handset that we would like to see released worldwide, in the end this September announcement will likely mean nothing more than an end to the rumors. Bottom line, this is a handset that most outside of China will never get a chance to see or play with.
