Android Fireside Chat is a Q&A session that is often considered the best part of Google IO, as it gives developers a chance to ask what’s on their minds as well as talk to the product engineering teams. Come tell the team what you want, discuss issues and design decisions, and hear the team’s thoughts on just about whatever you ask.  In this first, you’ll get to meet the leads for Android platform.

One of the things that really excites me about Android is the open source aspect, and an added bonus to that is that there’ll be a ton of weird and funky applications popping up from day one.

What I’m wondering about is when you believe the “serious” programs will emerge for the platform; on release since the SDK has been out for so long, or some distance away? By serious I mean business applications and the like.

I’m so excited about Android. I hope it comes out before I itch to use my cell phone upgrade.

I can’t wait to get rid of this POS Motorola IC902 that disabled my Mobile Gmail after a update. I will be buying one of these on Beta day, I mean Launch Day!
