Mad Catz CEO Darren Richardson began teasing the MOJO back in June. At the time he referred to the system as an “Android micro console” and while we later learned this would be the latest Android powered game console, the price and availability details weren’t revealed until much later. We saw those in October, and as was promised — the Mad Catz MOJO console has arrived for purchase.

As we had been told, the MOJO console is priced at $249.99. Those looking to make a purchase will be able to find the MOJO direct with Mad Catz as well as with several retailers. The list of retailers include Amazon and Newegg as well as GameStop and Tiger Direct. The pricing appears to be the same across the retailers and those making a purchase will get the console itself along with the CTRL Mobile Gamepad.

Mad Catz describes the gamepad as being a “revolutionary controller featuring Bluetooth 4.0 technology for exceptional battery life and lag free gaming.” More than just gaming though, the controller can replicate mouse movements and is sporting a full range of media hot keys. It is also compatible with Android devices using a Bluetooth connection.

Aside from the controller, the MOJO itself is powered by an 1.8GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 T40S processor with 2GB of RAM. The system also has 16GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, Ethernet, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, a 3.5mm headphone jack and HDMI for making the connection to your television.

Mad Catz has the MOJO running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and pre-loaded with the Google Play Store as well as the NVIDIA TegraZone for all your apps and gaming needs. Otherwise, the MOJO ships with the console and controller as well as an AC adapter and HDMI cable.

  1. $249.99 for a MOJO? Id rather spend $250 on a NVIDIA Shield, at least the shield is portable; although on second though neither have an impressive library yet…Ugh
