If you are a fan of the Loopt app, the company updated the Android version this week to 4.0 with some cool new features. The new app can be downloaded now and has a new streamlined design that is focused on finding the pals that are nearby.

The app has a new Ping feature that lets you sent location-text messaged to friends. When those messages come in you can share your location or ignore them. The app shows where your friends are right now and where your pals like to go when they are in the area you are.

The Loopt update also adds in some rewards like free music and you get notifications when friends are close and where deals can be found. The update also adds a very simply mechanism for turning location sharing on and off. Check out the video below for some of the new features.
