Cubby, the cloud sync and storage service from LogMeIn has officially graduated from the beta phase. The service is similar to others that we have seen and offers 5GB of storage space for free along with cross platform availability. Cubby users also have the option to upgrade to a paid account with higher storage limits and additional features.

Cubby has an Android app, which can be found in the Google Play Store. In addition to Android, there are apps available for Windows and Mac computers as well as the other mobile platform — iOS. Having multiple apps means you should never be without that important file. Aside from being able to access your data from a wide variety of computers and devices, Cubby users will also be able to use their ‘cubbies’ (the folders you have in your account) to share with others. The sharing will allow you to send a file as read-only or to make it available for collaborating. And worry not, those you are sharing with will not need a Cubby account of their own.

Aside from the free 5GB accounts, Cubby Pro accounts begin at $6.99 per month (prepaid annually at $83.88) and offer additional features such as a DirectSync mode which means you can sync your files from computer to computer without having your data in the cloud. Another goodie for Cubby Pro users is security. Pro users will have Cubby Locks which allow you to password protect and perhaps key for some — Cubby Pro users are noted as having “sole ownership of their encryption keys.”

The Cubby Android app will run on devices with Android 2.1 or later and brings features to include on the go access to your data as well as the ability to share your Cubbies privately, share a Cubby publicly with a link and the ability to set permissions/access levels for friends and/or colleagues. Lastly, the Cubby Android app will let you save cubbies and individual files for offline use.
