We’ve seen plenty about Google Glass lately, and one of the features of the Google wearable is the ability to quickly capture images and video from your point of view. There is plenty more going on with Glass, however a new Kickstarter project appears aimed at those who are only looking for image (and video) capture. The project is the LifeLogger and the funding campaign has just gotten underway.

At present there are roughly 200 backers and the folks behind the LifeLogger have a goal of $150,000 (they are currently sitting at just under $35,000). Having said that, we’ll leave it up to you in terms of whether you should back the project. What we can say is that the LifeLogger is a wearable camera. And by wearable — we mean on the head in a style similar to Google Glass. Though, the LifeLogger looks more like a Bluetooth headset with a strap that goes around the back of your head.

Looks aside, the features include GPS with WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0 in terms of connectivity. The LifeLogger has a gyroscope, magnetometer and accelerometer along with an H.264 video encoder and 32GB of memory by way of an included microSD card. The card slot supports cards up to 64GB in size, so that can easily be upped. There is also going to be an Android companion app with support for devices running 4.0 or later.

There was mention of a 400 mAh battery, though we haven’t yet seen much in terms of run time estimates. Perhaps more important here is the camera setup. The LifeLogger has a 5MP camera that captures images in 4:3 and video at 720p 30fps. There is also an emergency recording feature which is described as being able to “save previous and afterwards 30 sec. of video clip if emergency recording is activated.”

The Kickstarter campaign has backing options beginning from $199 which includes the LifeLogger camera with 3 months of Cloud & Software service (up to 25GB).
