Who says good things must come in big packages? Definitely not LG who just announced a new Bluetooth headset no larger than a matchbox. Don’t let the size deceive you, though, as the small device packs just the right features to make it worth a longer look.

At a size of 35.9mm x 50.2mm x 19.2mm, LG’s BTS1 Bluetooth headset is hardly eye-catching. It sports controls for playback and volume at the front and a built-in clip for attaching to collars, belts, or ties. But as they say, it’s what’s inside that counts. The headset has a “G-Class Amplifier” and support for the aptX audio codec. LG also claims a battery life of 8 hours on continue music playback. The company suggests that the device is perfect for watching TV with a movie theater experience, without having to worry about the volume bothering other people.

The BTS1 includes Bluetooth 3.0 support, allowing it to connect to a variety of devices such as smartphones, tablets, and TVs that support Bluetooth connectivity, like LG’s Smart TVs, for example. It could be the perfect partner to LG’s new flagship smartphone, the LG G2. The G2, sporting a 5.2-inch 1080p display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, is expected to be announced next week.

The LG BTS1 is priced at 59,000 won, around $53. However, it can only be purchased in Korean markets for now. International availability has not yet been announced.
