Aside from the V series, LG is introducing a new line of smartphones at the Mobile World Congress next week. Expect Barcelona to be busy with the influx of new phones, tablets, and related technologies that companies are hoping will enhance whatever area there is to improve in our digital lives. LG is one of the top brands we’re going to watch especially because of the LG G5.

The LG G and V are premium smartphones while the X series fits the mid-range category. This is a new one since LG also has the Class and the newly announced K series. The ‘X screen’ and ‘X cam’ are the first phones from this series that will be showcased next week starting February 22. Judging by the names given, the ‘cam’ is more imaging-centric while the ‘screen’ has a second screen ideal for productivity.

The LG X cam (pictured above) comes equipped with dual cameras and boasts of a curved finish at the front, thanks to 3D Bending Glass. It’s thin at 5.2mm and weighs 118g only. Meanwhile, the X screen can be likened to the higher-end V10 because it also features an “Always-on” Second Screen which is situated above the main display. The phone is somewhat like a lower-end version of the V10. The second display measures 1.76 inch while the bigger HD In-cell Touch screen is 4.93-inches. As usual, the Always-on screen can show alerts, notifications, incoming calls, favorite apps, battery status, date, and time. The LG X screen also looks very streamlined and classy with the crystal-clear glass fiber exterior.

The LG X series is perfect for those who want a reliable smartphone sans the more hi-tech and advanced features and specs they don’t really need. The phones will be available this coming March in Asia, Latin America, and Europe concentrating on the key markets.

Here’s a rundown of the X phones’ specs:

X cam. 5.2-inch FHD In-cell Touch, 1.14GHz Octa-Core chipset, 13MP and 5MP dual rear camera, 8MP selfie shooter, 2GB RAM, 16GB built-in storage, 2520 mAh battery, and LTE connectivity. Available in White, Gold, Pink Gold, and Titan Silver.
