LG recently began teasing in advance of Mobile World Congress and while we wait to see what they have planned for the show, it looks like they have also started teasing some current device owners with an update. Specifically, teasing those with an Optimus 4X HD, Optimus L9 and Optimus L7 with Jelly Bean. The details are still at a minimum, however if you happen to be carrying any of those three devices — an update is in the works.

LG didn’t mention which version of Android would be arriving, only that the update would bring Jelly Bean. Looking at another recent LG update may provide a clue though. The company recently updated the Optimus G with Android 4.1.2. It would be nice to see these next three go to 4.2, however we suspect they will arrive as 4.1.2.

Otherwise, the big question remains as to when. LG has only stated that the updates will be arriving “in the first half” of the year. And while the tease may be sort of annoying for those waiting, we suppose that looking on the bright side is that at least you know you have an update coming. Basically, you now have something to look forward to getting. After all, Jelly Bean is a worthy update with a few nice features.

Aside from these Jelly Bean updates, we are also going to be looking towards LG for additional details on the Optimus G Pro and the Optimus L7 II Dual, both of which were recently spotted in leaks. Of course, we also want the details on that “new series” of mobile phones that are said to be coming with “unexpected distinction.”
