LG Optimus S Launching November 7th, Brings Sprint ID Along for Ride

Sprint ID was a hot ticket when it was announced not too long ago, but as many things do, it’s become something of a distant memory since then. However, it’s still out there, and now it’s going to launch on a new device here in just under a week. The LG Optimus S is set to launch on November 7th with a nice price tag, plus Android 2.2.

The LG Optimus S may not be a high-end device to end all high-end devices, but it’s nothing to shrug your shoulders at, either. Featuring Android 2.2 under the hood, a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 3.2MP camera on the back, and the Mobile Hotspot capability, it’s a decent enough device. And, with its inclusion of Sprint ID, which will let owners customize individual homescreens to their liking, it’s got just enough kick to warrant a second look this holiday season.

The device, along with Sprint ID, are set to launch for Sprint on November 7th, in a charcoal color. If you want to wait for the purple version, you’ll have to hold out until November 21st. Price wise, you’re looking at only $49.99, after you sign over for a two-year agreement, and send in for your $100 mail-in rebate. Check out the official statement from Sprint below for all the details.

Announced last month at CTIA, Sprint ID allows users to select, on one of three new Android smartphones, ID packs that feature apps, widgets, screensavers and more bundled in one convenient download. Up to five ID packs plus the My ID basic Android experience can be added with virtually a single touch, allowing users to seamlessly move between experiences. Through packaged, relevant applications, Sprint ID gives both powerhouse brands and start-ups a chance to provide context for a multifaceted, rich experience. It gives businesses the opportunity to improve the productivity of their increasingly mobile workforces.
