Last year LG released a powerhouse smartphone the Optimus G for AT&T and a few other carriers, and it was quite successful. Now just a few short months later it looks like they are already set to one-up the smartphone as their recently announced Optimus G Pro with a massive 5.5-inch 1080p display is rumored to be headed to AT&T next month.
We've heard plenty of rumors around this handset, and we finally got to enjoy some hands-on with the flagship smartphone at Mobile World Congress back in February. However, now there seems to be multiple reports surfacing that AT&T will be first in line for the smartphone, and will replace their current Optimus G with the newer and bigger Pro in mid May.
According to a few tips we've received ourselves, as well as reports by Android Central and others, this phone could be announced any day now and launch on AT&T as soon as May 10th. This certainly could give the delayed into the end of April HTC One a run for its money, and compete quite nicely with the GALAXY S 4 too.
The Optimus G Pro comes with a powerful 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 series processor and 2GB of RAM, a massive battery, 32GB of storage, a 13 megapixel camera, and best of all a 5.5-inch 1920 x 1080p full HD display. It stacks up quite well against any and all current competition. The previous model landed on multiple carriers in the USA, but so far we're only hearing AT&T. To add fuel to the report we've also confirmed the Optimus G Pro hit the FCC recently with AT&T 4G LTE on board, so now it's only a matter of time.
Watch out HTC and Samsung, LG has some pretty big plans this year!
