By the time LG unveils the LG G3 in a few hours, there will barely be any surprises left. In the Netherlands, the official product page for the G3 has gone up, and remains up, detailing almost everything that you’ll need to know about this upcoming flagship.

In terms of hardware, LG has confirmed through its teasers the 5.5-inch 2560×1440 QHD display. We’re also seeing, as expected, a 2.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. RAM is at 2 GB, not the 3 GB that was leaked earlier. Storage is capped at 16 GB but expandable up to 128 GB with a microSD card. And then we also have the 13 megapixel rear camera that is capable of shooting Ultra HD videos and is guided by the Laser Auto Focus sensor mentioned before.

Outside, we do see probably the most expected part of the LG G3’s design, the metal finish. LG dubs it a lightweight metal housing, and it will hopefully be so. The smartphone weighs 151 g and stands at 146.3 x 74.6 x 9.1 mm. The “grip-ability” that LG was claiming yesterday still remains to be proven. According to the web page, the LG G3 will come in three color options, all of them with the same brushed metal look. These will be Metallic Black, Shine Gold, and Silk White.

LG might still be able to offer a few surprises at its official announcement tomorrow, at least in terms of software features. We do know that Knock Code will definitely be there, but there is also mention of a certain “Smart Notice” feature that has yet to be fully described. But as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating, and we will really be able to make a more accurate assessment of the LG G3 once we are able to take it for a spin ourselves.

  1. I own the G2 and like it, but if the G3 has the disappointing hardware described in this article I will skip it and maybe go will another manufacturer. I will not buy a phone that I’ll want to replace in a month. I have a sweet spot in mind for specs and will buy the phone that meets them, brand be damned.

      • I don’t know why they stated QHD when it is to have a Ultra 2560×1440 HD screen. 805 vs. 801 will not make a great deal of difference in my opinion. Certainty not a deal breaker for me. I will admit that the battery could be bigger. I am hoping they include a 2.4 Amp charging block.

      • Well, preferably Odin or if not that the 805, 64 gigs of onboard storage if not that 32 gigs, USB 3.0 which it is rumored to support. 3100 mh battery or above or the option to purchase an upgrade LG or non-LG. The sd is a great idea and I do like it, but I use a lot of media purchased from google so may not be able to store the bulk to sd. That being said I am awaiting the official work from LG, I will not be pissed as LG owes me nothing, but I will wait for the phone that meets or exceeds my expectations whether it is made by LG or not.

      • Isn’t media purchased from Google stored in the cloud? I’ve never bought music, movie, etc from Google so I’m not sure how it works.

      • Yes, it is and I do like that, I only buy digital media at this point, but I store my audio books and music on my phone so as to be able to listen to them in out of sevice areas with no wifi access. My movies can stay in the cloud because I watch them at home. Verdict on the G3 at this point, undecided. I will have to get one in my hands and dink around with it to see how it performs. I know that with the new UI I could be underestimating the G3’s capabilities.
