There’s a high demand for budget smartphones from China and after Xiaomi’s rollout of the Redmi 3 which by the way quickly sold out, here’s Lenovo introducing the Lemon 3. Okay, the name may not be attractive but it doesn’t literally mean it’s going to be a lemon. We already knew about this way back in September and said that a Lemon X might be the first Motorola-designed phone. This one will directly rival the Redmi 3 within the same budget smartphone category and will come with a price tag that reads 699 Yuan ($106).

The name could still be changed for its global release. It actually looks similar to the Lenovo K3 Note, another budget phone released mid 2015. This one though features a full-metal body frame and comes equipped with a 5-inch Full HD 1080p display screen, 2GB RAM, 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 processor, 16GB onboard storage, dual audio speakers, 13MP rear camera with LED flash, 5MP front-facing camera, and a 2750mAh battery. As for connectivity, it comes with the standard Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, micro USB, and 4G LTE. Dual SIM support is also available.

Compared to the Redmi 3 which has a 4100mAh battery, the Lemon 3’s 2750mAh battery is small. However, the display of the Lenovo phone is better at 1080p compared to the 720p of the Xiaomi handset. So both have an advantage against each other. If you want a better display, get this Lenovo Lemon 3 but if you want a bigger battery, get the Redmi 3 from Xiaomi.

  1. wow, now even the rock bottom entry level android phones are outstanding! Many people would be perfectly happy using a phone like this, even if they didn’t know what it cost.
