KENWOOD Multimedia Receivers with Android Auto

Kenwood first showcased a new dash system known as the DDX9902S earlier this year at the International CES. Just recently, the company has officially released the system with another one, the DDX9702S, to allow a safer driver experience.

The Excelon DDX9902S and DDX9702S are two new multimedia units from Kenwood, the leader automotive electronics. They are currently the premium models for the KENWOOD nad KENWOOD Excelon lines. These two will officially have Android Auto and CarPlay running.

While other dashboard systems only run one platform, these Kenwoord products support both platforms from Apple and Google. This means you can use Android phone or iPhone by switching between the platforms. No need to reset the device or change the settings.

Both the DDX9902S and DDX9702S feature voice playback and voice recognition to control entertainment and audio. With Android Auto, Google voice actions command the system to get driving directions and play music. Google Now cards are also shown at certain locations and times. With CarPlay, there’s Siri with providing voice-controlled navigation, Apple Maps, music, and podcasts.

The Kenwood multimedia units boast of a 6.95-inch touch screen where audio and video, back-up camera view, and nagivation are displayed. They are Bluetooth-capable and are SiriusXM-Ready. Other features include DVD playback, HDMI input with MHL support, and HD Radio.

The KENWOOD DDX9702S and KENWOOD Excelon DDX9902S are available for $900 and $950, respectively.
