When the Jorno portable Bluetooth keyboard first came out on Kickstarter three years ago, it was one of a kind, with very few like it available in the market. And a lot of people thought at that time that they really don’t need something like it. Fast forward to three years later and several new players along for the ride, and Jorno has finally started shipping to its early (patient) backers just last month.

Since it’s three years in the making, there have been a lot of improvements as well from its earlier prototype, which should please those who supported the crowdfunded portable keyboard. Early reviews are saying it’s probably worth the wait. It is now “thinner, lighter, and sturdier” than what they actually envisioned and promised. It is also 10% smaller than the usual full-size keyboards you find on desktops. It connects to your Android device using Bluetooth 3.0, which should also make it faster than the one they demo-ed back in 2012.

The protective case for the keyboard can also serve as a stand for your smartphone or tablet, although it might be a little bulky, if what you’re going for is the minimal number of gadgets/accessories in your bag. You can use it supposedly up to 85 hours of continuous charge and 220 days when on standby (but why should something like this be on standby, really?). It can be charged using microUSB so it should not be too hard, even if you leave the cables at home, since most Android devices have microUSB connectors.

If you buy Jorno from their website directly, you can get it for $79, although that is only the introductory price. No word yet until when this price will last. Just use the code “JORNO” at check out to get that discounted rate.
