The ZTE Axon is one of the China-based outfit’s higher-end entries into the 2015 smartphone market. The Axon was launched in China, and then brought over to the US, as ZTE usually does. If you own a ZTE Axon, iFixit’s teardown article for the phone may be of some help to you in the future – although, we wouldn’t recommend you doing this on your own if you are not a certified tech.

If you don’t remember the ZTE Axon, allow us to give you a look back. It’s a top-tier smartphone with a 5.5-inch IPS LCD QHD (2560×1440) screen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. It also boasts of 4GB RAM and as much as 64GB internal storage. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and a proprietary anti-bacterial material. It has a fingerprint sensor, a 3,000mAh non-removable battery and if you want, you can buy it in a gorgeous gold finish.

With all of that in mind, and as is common with China-made gadgets, expect a lot of screws and elements that you may have to get through in the teardown before getting to, say, the battery. From what the videos show, it may take some experienced hands to make sure you’re doing the teardown right.
