There has been plenty of chatter in regards to the Huawei Ascend P7 in recent weeks. The device is currently sporting a codename of Sophia and speculation was suggesting the handset would be announced later this month during Mobile World Congress. But thanks to new details coming from the Wall Street Journal, it now looks like that will not be happening.

Huawei does have some plans for MWC though. In fact, it seems there will be several devices shown by Huawei. There was talk of one smartphone, two tablets and a smartwatch. The specifics for the devices were left a mystery, however it was made clear the one smartphone will not be the successor to the Ascend P6.

Instead, that device is said to be coming later in the year. Again, the specifics of the devices were not discussed, however we do know the next flagship, expected to the Ascend P7, will not be announced. This could lead one to believe the smartphone shown at MWC will be mid-tier.

Android Community will be in Barcelona for Mobile World Congress, and we will be keeping an eye out for the new smartphones and tablets from Huawei. But at the same time, we are a bit more curious about the smartwatch. More to the point, we are curious to see if Huawei will be able to introduce a watch with a standout feature, say, something the other players aren’t doing just yet.
