Huawei’s first quality Android tablet was their MediaPad, also known as the T-Mobile Springboard here stateside. While it was the first 7-inch tablet to come with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, it wasn’t the first to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich although they’ve beat most to the upgrade. Huawei has recently released the ICS update for the MediaPad and now it’s available for download.

Released back in November was the Springboard, and we’ve seen a few ICS leaks but T-Mobile themselves have yet to upgrade the tablet. Huawei’s own MediaPad however has seen better treatment. Back in January Huawei started shipping the same MediaPad with Android 4.0 ICS pre-installed. For some reason the update for existing owners took a little while, and is now finally available.

If you have the Springboard you’ll probably have to wait for T-Mobile or some XDA developers to help you out, for everyone else this can be downloaded today at Huaweidevice.com under downloads. The MediaPad runs on a stock build of Android so this should run plenty smooth and stable for those interested. Hit the download link provided above and let us know how it goes.
