Huawei unveiled the MediaPad 7 Vogue tablet back in June. That model was sporting a 7-inch display and voice calling and as of today Huawei has announced a similar model. This latest is aimed at the younger generation and called the MediaPad 7 Youth. Basically, Huawei seems to be pushing this as the “perfect portable companion for the connected generation to enjoy their independence.”

That bit aside, the MediaPad 7 Youth will have a 7-inch capacitive display with 10-point multitouch. Huawei hasn’t specified the resolution, however they have said the tablet will be capable of 1080p HD video playback. Otherwise, this model will be powered by a dual-core 1.6GHz processor and sporting what is being referred to as a “powerful” GPU.

Remaining specs include Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, a 4100 mAh battery, WiFi and HSPA+ connectivity (up to 21Mbps). The tablet will weigh in at 350 grams and measure in with a thickness of 9.9mm. The tablet will also have an aluminum metal unibody design.

Basically, this is another 7-inch device that is able to serve as a tablet and smartphone. Looking at the MediaPad 7 Vogue in comparison and we find a device that will have a 7-inch (1024 x 600) display along with a quad-core 1.2GHz Huawei K3V2 Cortex-A9 processor, 4100 mAh battery and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Huawei has yet to announce a price or specific launch date for the MediaPad 7 Youth. Instead what they have said is that the tablet will be available in Russia, China, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Europe from the third quarter of the year.
