Huawei has announced a pair of new devices for the Honor lineup. This time around the announcement included the Honor X3 and Honor 3C which feature a 5.5-inch and 5-inch display respectively. They both also have a display that tops out at 720p in terms of resolution. Huawei did pack the Honor 3X with an octa-core processor and also touched a bit on why they opted for 720p as opposed to going 1080p.

According to Huawei, going with a 1080p display in the Honor 3X would have used as much as 20 percent more battery life. To that point, the Honor 3X is sporting a 3,000 mAh battery. The processor is a MediaTek MT6592, which as mentioned is octa-ctore. In this case it clocks in as a 1.7GHz Cortex-A7.

Other highlights of the Honor 3X include 2GB of RAM as well as a 5 megapixel front-facing camera and 13 megapixel rear-facing camera. Shifting to a feature shared across both models and we find dual-SIM support. Both handsets also support 3G in terms of network connectivity. And for now, both appear headed to China, and China only.

Shifting over to the Honor 3C and we find a handset powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset. In this case that clocks in as a quad-core 1.2GHz Cortex-A7. Other specs for the Honor 3C include 2GB of RAM, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera and 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. The rear-facing camera for the Honor 3C is from Sony with a f/2.0 aperture.

All that having been said, so far there isn’t any indication these Honor branded devices will be available outside of China. Both will be up for sale relatively soon and they will also be low priced. The Honor 3X is CNY 1,700 and the Honor 3C is CNY 1,000 (2GB) or CNY 800 (1GB). Those prices equate to roughly $280, $160 and $130 in terms of US dollars.
