HTC Wildfire S now available on MetroPCS, no contract required

The popular entry level smartphone from HTC the Wildfire S has just been announced as available starting today headed to MetroPCS as their first HTC Android smartphone. Also available on T-Mobile and US Cellular the Wildfire S from MetroPCS will be only $179 without a contract. That is the outright price for this decent little phone.

We know everyone doesn’t need the biggest and best phone available and so does MetroPCS. The Wildfire S features a 3.2″ display, a 600 Mhz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM and a decent 5 megapixel rear shooter for those Facebook moments. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and when we reviewed the T-Mobile version we were quite impressed for the price.

If you are looking for a great deal and Black Friday isn’t working out or you plan to stick to MetroPCS then this might be your perfect phone. The Wildfire S from MetroPCS will only be $179 and that is without a contract — $70 cheaper than what T-Mobile is asking people to pay for the same smartphone. Again this requires no contract and if you want a decent smartphone for web, text, email, and some Angry Birds this is the perfect opportunity.
