Putting an end to the long and seemingly never ending series of rumors, the HTC One (M8) has been officially unveiled. Many of the leaks and rumors have been accurate, but that isn’t to say the entire picture had been revealed. HTC is touting the One (M8) as having been “built to inspire envy” and in this case it will have an all-metal unibody design.

Some of the highlights dealing with the body include how the housing is now 90 percent metal. In comparison, last year’s HTC One housing was 70 percent metal. On this new model the housing wraps all the way around the sides and comes up to the edge of the display. HTC mentioned how this creates “natural curves that fit snugly in your hand and make it easy to hold.” The metal on the back is also brushed.

HTC has announced three colors for the One (M8), though we have yet to see any breakdown in terms of the market availability. The colors include Gunmetal Gray, Glacial Silver and Amber Gold. The handset features a 5-inch Full HD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor. Other highlights include options for 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot (supporting cards up to 128GB) and 2GB of RAM.

Users can also expect Android 4.4 Kit Kat with HTC Sense 6. Naturally, the basics such as WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS will be included. In this case that means WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX and GPS with GLONASS. The HTC One (M8) power will come by way of a non-removable 2600 mAh battery.

The HTC One (M8) will also have the dual-front facing speakers with BoomSound. Rounding out the feature set will be a 5 megapixel camera on the front. The rear-facing camera will be the Duo camera with the primary on the back being the HTC UltraPixel. All that having been said, this is just the first on many HTC One (M8) posts coming today so make sure to keep an eye on the HTC One tag here on Android Community to get the full picture.
