Folks across the pond will have the luxury to purchase the hot new HTC Magic on May 15th for $640 USD without a contract.  This black version going on sale in Taiwan is almost identical to the one available for Vodafone customers.  The left and right hand side is covered in a darker shade of red. If anyone can read Taiwanese/Kanji, feel free to help translate the article on ePrice the rest of the community.

  1. The Magic looks better in white.
  2. It's Ok, Just Ok - I like the red accent on the side
  3. i like this one better the red looks so nice too
  4. im not a fan of white phones or white anything, i like black i think black is the new black lmao. no but i think black just makes everything look sleek and sexy
  5. $640? they can kiss my ***. Now where's that samsung....
  6. in taiwan, the htc magic was unveiled to the public a few weeks ago.

you can see some pics of the device in both black and white below.

    http://www.sogi.com.tw/newforum/arti...pic_ID=6077070

if you go to the second page there are some videos of the device in action.

    one more thing of note.

the retail price is for $640 but from what I could translate, you get free stuff that equals in value to $320. you can get the following:

-an 8 gb microSD card (value = $25)
-3 months free service data plan ($87)
-if you extend the data plan service for a year, you only pay 50% of the cost ($174)
-a replacement bag that includes a spare battery and something else i couldn't translate ($20)
-a special DVD and poster of a famous taiwanese pop singer. ($14)

so, if you want to look at it, you could just be paying $320 for the phone.
  7. I dig the red striping
  8. I also dig the red striping, but I think the Magic looks better in white.
  9. Damn, my G5 is in for service today. Otherwise I'd have my pilot take me to Taiwan so I could pick up one of these bad boys.
  10. Taiwanese Mandarin, also called Taiwanese language, is not a writing language. It is a dialect.

    And Kanji is Japanese.

The article is written in traditional Chinese characters.
  11. That red strip is awesome. I think the Magic is nicer in black, so I love this.
  12. I like it. Those silver buttons, sweet. I do plan on trading my G1 for this if it comes to the US in black as well. Ever since the cupcake release I really haven't used the physical keyboard.
  13. i'm a chinese guy who come from beijing city,i could read the taiwanese aritcle very easily, i just wondering where to post the translated article if i had finished ??? if i can be any helpful for translation, feel free to notice me, i'd be happy to be a volunteer of translator,my contact email yifeihong@tom.com.
  14. Little quizz :
