HTC is going to bring its 5-inch monster phablet to China. With China’s massive population, it seems like the perfect place for HTC to bring it’s incredibly powerful smartphone. China has long been considered a market where entry-level phones rule the roost, but there is a growing segment of the market seeking high-end devices, and HTC is looking to capitalize on that growing demand with the HTC DLX.

The HTC DLX (aka the Droid DNA) is an absolute monster of a smartphone. It comes with a 1080p, 5-inch touchscreen that looks impressive. It also features 2GB of RAM and a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor. Of course, it’s a risk for HTC to bring such a high-end device to the Chinese market, but it could prove to be a great success for them.

The device is also slated to have a 12MP camera on the back, and a 2MP camera on the front. As with most high-end devices, it comes equipped with Android Jelly Bean installed, so Chinese consumers will be able to take advantage of the latest Android features. Our own Cory was impressed when he got his hands on the Droid DNA, and he said he “can’t stress enough how amazing this screen looks.”

We shall have to wait and see how well this phone does in China. We expect it be a huge success in the US as the Droid DNA, where high-end smartphones are all the rage, but this is kind of a new venture in China. We shall wait and see what kind of response it receives on December 6, if this rumor actually comes to pass.
