HTC has officially announced their latest handset, the Desire 600. This model is set to arrive in June and will be joining the midrange lineup. HTC will launch the Desire 600 with a 4.5-inch Super LCD2 qHD display and with other goodies to include BlinkFeed and BoomSound. And while the Desire 600 will not have the Zoe feature, those users will have something similar. There will also be dual-SIM support for those looking to keep their work and home life seperate.

HTC has also mentioned that both SIM cards can be active at the same time. The HTC Desire 600 will be powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 processor paired with 1GB of RAM. Other specs include 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot, 1860 mAh battery, 1.6 megapixel front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear-facing camera. The rear-facing camera will have an LED flash and use HTC’s ImageChip along with an f/2.0 aperture, 28mm lens.

The one catch here, the rear-facing camera will only be able to record video at 720p. That Zoe-like feature is called Video Highlights and will cut together 30 second video compilations which can then be edited with music and themes. Otherwise, touching back on that battery, while 1860 mAh may not be as big as some would have hoped for, it is a removable battery which means it can easily be swapped out when the power begins running low.

Aside from the specs already mentioned, the Desire 600 will also have the usual array. Basically, that is to say the handset will have NFC and GPS as well as WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. Network connectivity will arrive as dualband HSPA and triband GSM/EDGE. Or in other words, there will not be any LTE.

HTC has yet to announce any pricing, however they have offered some details in terms of the market availability. The release will begin in June and the handset will launch first in Russia and the Ukraine as well as in “select markets” of the Middle East and Asia. So far no word in terms of a North American or European launch.
