Anyone with a stock HTC Amaze 4G should be getting an over the air software update this week. According to T-Mobile the update is rolling out now and should begin hitting handsets soon. It’s not Ice Cream Sandwich but we’ll take what we can get, especially since there are bug fixes and even WiFi calling now too.

A very similar update was just pushed out for the HTC Sensation 4G so we were already expecting this for the Amaze. Now that it is finally starting to roll out here are a few of the improvements and bug fixes as outlined by T-Mobile and HTC:

New Features
–IMS Wi-Fi Calling
–Google Music

Improvements
–Improvements to Bluetooth connection
–Clock widget not updating with time zone change
–Improvement to Twitter and Peep application
–Improved Wi-Fi connection

WiFi calling and Google Music are probably the two big ones although we’ve been able to download Google Music for some time already. Bluetooth was said to have a few issues although our review device had zero issues. Many users of HTC Sense UI have reported problems with the clock and weather widget not updating correctly so it also seems they’ve fixed that small issue too. Nothing major here but it’s nice to see HTC keeping up with software updates and improvements. Now all we need is that sweet and frozen Ice Cream Sandwich and we’ll all be Amazed.

  1.  i installed this new software on my htc amaze now my Bluetooth is not connecting it was connecting before , battery life sucks  any idea to fix this issue .
    thanks

    • Try doing a hard reset.  Or back up your phone and factory re-set it. This may fix the problem. Also, try downloarding juice defender in the apps store. I can go 1.5 days without a charge… and this is from regular use.

  2. cant open apps it stars blinking.
like some one is turning a light switch off and on i have to stop what i want to do and forget it.. .
does anyone else have this problem its irratating…

  3. Ever since this software update, I have gone through 4 devices that have been returned. I have received no help from Tmobile stating that the phone is fine. I am in the graphic design business and i have to be able to open up my hyper links ever since the upgrade they are not active. Tmobile customer support recommends that i increase the font size. That didnt work. Now they are telling me to cut and paste the link in my browser. Wow tmobile way to stand behind the products you sell. with this advise i should have purchased a throw away phone from walmart. Screw tmobiles advice and HTC for rolling out software with issues. looks like we are going to have to buy out a contract that just begun 2 months ago. Stay away from these companies and products.
