This weekend one of our favorite weather and widget packs for Android received a nice little update with loads of new goodies to grace our home screens. Of course we’re talking about the popular HD Widgets app. We’re huge fans of HD Widgets for multiple reasons, and for it being highly customizable. Today they’ve added 12 new switches or quick toggles and much much more.

HD Widgets continues to be our go-to widget for our home screen, and lock screen with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and today they’ve added a few noteworthy new goodies. For one, they’re preparing for the official ColourForm add-on app – which makes it the most customizable widget pack available. Check it out right here.

Then probably the most important and exciting part of the update is the new switches. For those that don’t know, these are mini 1×1 widgets that control all sorts of awesome little things. One click switch to toggle WiFi, turn on Bluetooth, instantly check battery stats, and much much more. This update added 12 new switches – bringing the total to 50 – and many are focused on weather.

Now you have almost anything you can imagine in the form of a small little switch. Want to check just the percentage of likely rain, they have that. Same goes for dew-point and other weather related things. Colourform will officially be released on the 28th, so get ready for that. The update also brings the minimum Android version to 2.3 Gingerbread, and fixed a few pesky bugs although they didn’t detail what.
