Did you ever dream of using your watch to fight off evil forces that are hell bent on attacking you? Well, this new game may be the closest thing you've got. Tower defense game Guns 'n Glory Heroes has now been optimized so you can play it on your smartwatches running on the Android Wear platform, namely the LG G Watch, the Moto 360, the Samsung Gear Live and the Sony Smartwatch 3.
Your avatar in this game is an elven wizard, and you need to help her ward off orcs, dark elves and evil sword knights by using your crossbow arrows, kind of like Cupid but with deadlier results. The problem is that the more you keep them away, the more they get stronger. So you need to come up with magical spells and get power ups along the way in order to win the battle against these dark forces.
It's easy imagining playing this game on a smartphone or a tablet, but on the tiny screen of a smartwatch, that should be a challenge in itself. You control the game through your wearable's touch screen. One great thing about this game is that it also sort of doubles as an health wearable since you get bonus points by walking and moving and it will be monitored through an integrated step counter.
Playing games on Android Wear smartwatches is slowly but surely catching on, despite the limitations of the device. Developers will find ways of optimizing games or taking advantage of the much, much smaller screens to create games that cater to this. If you want to see how this pans out with this particular game, you can download Guns 'n Glory Heroes from the Google Play Store for $0.99.
