If there’s something we’re committed to, that’s making sure you have enough games in your Android arsenal to while away lazy April weekends. It’s that time of the week again and we have for you games, games and more games. We know there’s nothing more boring than not having games on your Android device when you feel like playing, so we’re going to be that guy who recommends all these games, because we know you need it, and you know you want these.

Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade

Mobile game developers are discovering what a “game ready” world they have in the Warhammer 40,000 playset, and if you’ve noticed, games with the Warhammer 40k badge on it are coming out in numbers. This new game – called “Warhammer 40,000: Freeblade” – will put you in a mech, first time it’s ever been done on a Warhammer 40k mobile game. That’s right, Freeblade will put you in mechanized suits of armor and allow you to destroy, well, pretty much everything. This is the first time a game will put players in the control seat of an Imperial Knight, the 40K universe’s massive one-person mech. It’s a shooter, but with mechs. You know you want this. Pick it up for free via the Play Store with IAPs.

Star Knight

Star-Knight-Game

But in store for you will be challenges like dangerous environments, platforms, spikes, rotating blades, traps – you know, all the good stuff that gets you dead. Exploding Kittens

It a while to do so, but Exploding Kittens – probably the finally most-funded game in the history of Kickstarter – is now available on Android. The hugely popular card game has been on iOS for almost a year now, and is finally here for Android smartphones and tablets. The game calls for you to prevent any kittens from being harmed among your friends or even strangers on the Internet. It’s a card game, but played like a Russian roulette, only with, you know, exploding kittens. The game can have 2-5 players and each will have a turn to draw a card, crossing their fingers that they do not draw an exploding kitten. It’s all fun, we promise. Get the app for USD$1.99 with IAPs for special avatars.

REDCON

Redcon 1

Strategy and tower defense games are a dime a dozen – you need to look for one that will capture your interest. May REDCON will do this for you, if you’re the type who loves big guns and artillery. Like a strategy game, you get to plan how you’re going to protect your battle fortress. You have the power to issue multiple orders and command your army. Like a TD game, you get to put up guns to defend your fortress when the baddie attacks. It actually sounds like fun already. The game is free to download, with 18 missions free to play. If you want to play some more, you have to get the paid version.

Counterstrike 1.6

Counter-Strike-1-6-Android-Game

That’s right, we typed it up there, and it’s true – someone actually made Counterstrike 1.6 work for Android. If you don’t know what Counterstrike is, well, we’ve already judged and condemned you in our heads. It’s only the world’s favorite Half Life mod, a shooter like no other. You will have to jump through some hoops to get this installed in your device. You will need a legal copy of Counterstrike 1.6 from Steam. Also, it probably needs to be a pretty robust device so you don’t experience lags. The controls are on screen, which is not optimal at all. But you can sync a Bluetooth controller or a mouse and keyboard and you’re good to go.

Here are the instructions:

1) Download and install the APK. Depending on the device you are using, you will need to install the APK using omp postfix if you have multi-core device. If you have a single-core Android device, or you’re having problems with omp version, you’ll need to use noomp to install it.

2) Install the latest Xash3D Android ( Download here from GitHub )

3) Copy cstrike and valve folders from your Steam CS1.6 installation to the xash folder on your SDCard

4) Run CS16Client and have fun!

Important Note: Delete any PAK files with name starting with “touch” or “vgui” in cstrike folder.

That’s all we have for you this week folks! Enjoy gaming!
