No frills, just simply showing off the simplicity and beauty of the new Nexus smartphones. This just about sums up how to describe two new videos that Google has released to introduce the Huawei Nexus 6P and the LG Nexus 5X to the world. Aside from being the two newest Nexus devices (and this is the first time that Google has released two at the same time), they are also the first smartphones that will carry the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.

The Huawei Nexus 6P is the bigger of the two devices and has the distinction of having a 12.3MP camera, the best that Google has included in a Nexus device. But the video is all about showing off the sculpted aluminum body of the smartphone, as well as highlighting that it has a 5.7 quad HD display. It also presents the one-touch fingerprint security located at the back of the device, as well as the fast-charing reversible USB type-C, which some say will become the standard in devices over the next few years.

Meanwhile, the LG Nexus 5X also has that fingerprint and USB type-C but the video highlights that it is compact and lightweight, as well as having a 5.2 HD LCD display. Just like the Nexus 6P, it also has 1.55um pixels on its camera so that you can take “great pictures in any light” and 4K resolution. Specs also show that the Nexus 5X can shoot slow-motion video at 120 frames per second while the Nexus 6P can do 240 frames per second.

The fingerprint scanner also means that the two devices are automatically ready for Android Pay, the mobile payment gateway that Google will be using to replace Google Wallet. The Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X are available for pre-order on the Google Store in the US starting today. Shipment is expected to commence by October.
