Google Search for Android, better known as Google Now was updated today to include a few new features for those on 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher. Our favorite Android feature as of late just got better, faster, and easier to manage so read on for all the details on the latest Google Search for Android.

The update just arrived on the Play Store and those using Android 4.1 Jelly Bean or higher will benefit the most from these new changes. Google has added real-time package tracking from select carriers, so now when it notices a tracking number in Gmail you’ll get live tracking too. Awesome right?

Google’s also added both a quick feedback, as well as a quick settings button right on each card. This way you can instantly hit the quick settings button to make changes, add a favorite sports team to the Sports card, update your location setting and more all with ease. Try it yourself by hitting the new (i) button on each card.

It also appears that search on mobile just got quicker too. Google states that search results will be faster, although that’s pretty hard to actually test. Not to mention it was already amazingly fast to begin with. Google has continued to update search and Now with awesome features and we can’t wait to see what they add next. Get it right now from the link below.

Update: It looks like Google added a lot more than just what we’ve mentioned above. After using Google Now for a few moments the results have all been improved. Searching for weather we now have the slider for more detailed up to the hour results and tools back, checking who won a sports game gives you a detailed breakdown, and much more. Then the settings page has been completely redesigned with easy on/off toggles, and we have a My stuff page too. Check it out below.

  1. Ive had package tracking for Google now for about 3weeks, thus isn’t new granted ive been using custom roms.

    • Package tracking has been in Now for a while. This is going to be real-time updates from certain carriers, which is a pretty big new feature that makes package tracking more useful.
